Multi-instrumentalist with a rich imagination, singer-songwriter Mat Vezio has been combining literary landscapes and musical exploration for the past five years. In 2017, his debut album Avant la mort des fleurs cueillies highlighted an artist in full effervescence, dabbling in conceptual art along the way, and whose atypical lyrics earned him a finalist spot at the Prix Félix-Leclerc de la chanson. Vezio, who also publishes short stories in literary magazines and is preparing a novel, is becoming more and more known as a lyricist. With Ciel Couleur Ecchymose, he is interested this time in the symbolism of migrations. Grandson of Italian immigrants, he has experienced the erosion of traditions over the years. Homage to his ancestors who made the journey, to his missing grandfather, and a transmission to his young son, Ciel Couleur Ecchymose is an album of emancipation and many disappearances, which uses the image of the migration of birds to speak of the issues of the displacement of peoples. Collisions in high altitude, losses, one-way trips, panoramic vision, fall and adaptation, the metaphor unfolds.
